2014 ACHAFR / RRAF THREE COUNTIES TOUR
TUESDAY 3rd - 6th June, 2014
The RRAF GB & I are organising the ACHAFR European Tour for 2014. This will be based at the 4 Star Forest Pines Resort Hotel & Golf Resort in North Lincolnshire, England.
The Hotel has been chosen as being ideally located less than 40kms from Hull. For Rotarians coming from more southern parts of Europe we have a preferred discount arrangement with LD Lines & Transmanche - click here. We are currently negotiating a discount on the Vlissingen - Hull route for those coming from more Northerly parts.
The three-day programme will visit the rolling Yorkshire Wolds, crossing the magnificent Humber Bridge, the rural Lincolnshire Wolds & a foray into North Nottinghamshire, promising a mixture of scenery & places to see.
We will have exclusive use of the Pines Suite for the evening meals, offering members the chance to meet and socialise in a great environment. The price for the three night Tour will be £340per head
Please note the Closing Date for Entries will be February 28th
THREE COUNTIES TOUR – BULLETIN #1
4th November 2013
Welcome to the 2014 RRAF / ACHAFR Tour
We have received all your entry forms & cheques, the cheques will be "banked" this week as we now have 34 entries all but one of who have confirmed they will be arriving a day early & stopping the Monday evening
As explained on the entry form we will book the extra night & you will pay for it at the end of your stay - the agreed price being £140 / room ; DB&B.
A full list of entrants is available on this site at; http://www.rraf.co.uk/images/stories/Events/Entry%20List%20Three%20Counties.pdf
With such a large number of people joining early we will be talking to the hotel & seeing if we can use the function room that we are using for the Tour for the Monday night as well.
Route Planning is going well;
Day 1 will be a tour of Lincolnshire - I will point out that we will not be visiting Lincoln due to the logistics of the number of cars , the cost of parking & the fact that Lincoln warrants a full days visit - the Cathedral, Castle , Steep Hill & Brayford all being worth a visit, never mind the selection of shops.
Day 2 will be a tour to Nottinghamshire / Sherwood Forest etc.
Day 3 will be a hop over the Humber Bridge to the Yorkshire Wolds- John Timperley is kindly sorting this route/day out for us. Again I will point out that we will not be visiting Beverley for the same reasons as Lincoln.
The Forest Pines Hotel has a wide selection of leisure facilities; Golf Courses, Gym, Swimming Pool , Sauna etc. All except the Golf are free to Tour members, as is the wi-fi throughout the hotel
All the best
